Landfills are a safer alternative to open dumpyards and are the destination for waste materials that were not or could not be reduced, reused, repurposed, recycled, or recovered. Simulate a sanitary landfill and an open-air dumpyard to explore the advantages of a landfill while observing decomposition in both aerobic and anaerobic environments.

This kit contains enough materials for 8 groups of students and comes with a Teacher�™s manual and student study guide copymaster.

The activity covers primary learning objectives STB-3.K and STB-3.L.
